A/N: wicked_seraph requested an Axel/Kairi oneshot. I'm not to sure about this one, as I've been unable to write for a long time, due to writer's block.
All of the girls kneel down and cross themselves, with eyes cast towards the statue of the Virgin Mary. Each girl closes her eyes, and begins to whisper a prayer that may or may not be selfish in nature. Towards the end of the line of young women is very average looking girl by first glance. Look closer and you’ll see her blue skirt is hitched higher than the rest, how two more buttons than allowed are undone, or how her eyes are lined with forbidden eyeliner. A black rosary hangs from her pale fingers, and while all of the other girls have their eyes closed, hers rest transfixed on the Priest standing before her.
Make no mistake, Kairi says a prayer before she eats, enjoys helping the needy children at a nearby center every week, and memorizes a new scripture each passing day. However, not even the sternest of nuns with their large rulers and fearsome statements of how: “Jesus is watching you at every moment,” can break the undeniable wild streak running through Kairi’s veins.
Each week it’s a new guy; last week it was the innocent coffee shop worker named Roxas, (who isn’t so innocent anymore) or the cocky Riku from the all boy’s Catholic school (cocky in a different way after he was with Kairi) or perhaps even the local guitar player Demyx (all of his songs are now dedicated to a certain redhead). Now she has her eyes set on the forbidden fruit: Father Axel.
Oh yes, she’s noticed the sideways glances, or how Axel nearly dropped a newborn baby whilst trying to christen it the first time he laid eyes on her, or knows how he had the gull to ask one of the nuns who the girl with the cherry hued hair was. Kairi also knows that Father Axel was transferred here from another church after he had a liaison with a new young nun. Everyone says now he’s a clean man, walks around with Jesus Christ and God in his heart, and how not even Satan could tempt him.
Kairi is ten times worse than Satan.
“Father Axel?” Kairi says; walking up towards him after the prayer to Mary is over and done with. Axel nearly knocks over the tall candle he’s lighting, and looks over towards the young girl.
“Y-yes my child?” Nervous and fumbling, his emerald orbs cannot make full contact with her azure irises.
“I’d like to have a confessional today, as I was a very bad girl this week.” Kairi says this with a tone of complete innocence, but Axel’s eyes nearly bulge out of his head.
“Ah y-yes, o-of course. Usually you don’t come up and ask me, as most like to remain anonymous...but uh-go right inside me-the box! Go inside the box!" Axel runs a hand through his red hair, and ushers the young girl ahead. Kairi just smiles, opens the little door, and takes a seat on a stool. A few moments later Axel enters, and takes a deep breath.
"What are your sins my child?"
“You see Father, I really like this guy, but I don’t know if he likes me back.”
“Kairi, I thought you said you had been a very bad girl- n-never mind go on." Axel lets out another deep sigh, and bites down on his lip.
“Well anyway, it’s absolutely forbidden to be with him! A sin against God even!” Kairi exclaims, taking note how Father Axel wets his lips.
“Sinning against God is the worst crime one can commit. You’ll just have t-to forget his man.”
“But I can’t! He’s always in my dreams you see! There’s something terribly alluring about his emerald green orbs, or his fire engine red hair that I imagine running my fingers through." The last hint of resolve Axel had is now diminished. Kairi now thinks that if it weren't for the screen separating them, he'd be all over her now.
“I’m thinking the private chapel in the back. How romantic are all of those candles?” Kairi asks coyly, winking mischievously as Axel visibly gulps.
“Five minutes. First I have to make sure the choir knows what songs to sing this coming Sunday.” Axel practically knocks down the confessional box's door down, and hurriedly goes to the choir room. Kairi only yawns unceremoniously, and skips towards the chapel used for private usage. Another week has gone by, and yet another man has been unable to resist her charms. Next week she’ll try that new exchange student from another Catholic school: Sora.
She has a certain fondness for blue eyed boys.
